The future of driver education

Interested in running the BTEC in your area?

The BTEC Level 2 Driving and Driver Education is available to all schools, colleges, post-16 centres and apprenticeship teams across England at no set cost to local authority road safety teams.

The course is centrally administered by the Nottinghamshire Road Safety partnership and accredited through Edexcel and Driving Force Ltd who wrote the BTEC. This means that there is minimal work required from local road safety teams to run the BTEC in your area.

The BTEC Level 2 in Driving and Driver Education is an excellent safety based course that can make an ideal complimentary project to add to your young driver offering.

Road Safety teams can help to launch the BTEC in your area by promoting it to schools and helping to source quality local driving instructors to work on the practical element of the course.

James Fee - Road Safety Officer for Nottingham City Council

“I have delivered the BTEC in Driver Education for the past year, and experienced first-hand the benefits the students get from this course. The awareness the shown by the students with regard to safer driving are evident throughout the course, which in turn provides them with an exemplary starting point from which to begin their practical driving lessons, also included in the course.
The benefits of the course can be felt across the student population, as the BTEC is designed to encourage discussion on what could be considered good or safe driving, both in and outside the classroom”
